For the last 15 years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has pretty much dominated the box office. Even when critics complained of "superhero fatigue," audiences continued to turn up.
Now, with the release of The Marvels, the critical reception and box office numbers may just be signalling a turning of the tide.
Culture critics A. Harmony, Ashley Ray and Eli Glasner join guest host Amil Niazi to review The Marvels, the latest ambitious crossover title in the multiverse saga starring Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Canadian actor Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel.
Plus, the panel discusses the second season of Issa Rae's series Rap Sh!t, and why Missy Elliott becoming the first female rapper inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was a bittersweet moment for some hip-hop fans.
