Police have charged a&nbsp;36-year-old man with first-degree murder after a stabbing in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Halifax community of Spryfield&nbsp;early Wednesday.

A news release said police were called to Twin Oaks Road&nbsp;around 2:20 a.m. after reports of a stabbing.

A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died. He's been identified as&nbsp;Adam Jerome Dempsey.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident.&nbsp;

Alexander Charles Howe&nbsp;was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Thursday morning to face a first-degree murder charge.

The investigation&nbsp;is ongoing, but police do not believe it was a random incident.

Man, 53, dead following crash on highway in Cumberland County

Nova Scotia RCMP say a 53-year-old man is dead following a crash Monday evening on the side of the Trans-Canada Highway in Cumberland County.

RCMP say a man was found dead Sunday night in Keremeos, B.C. Police say criminality was suspected.
