Man shot dead in car in downtown Toronto likely targeted, police say

Shooting happened near Sherbourne and Shuter streets around noon Tuesday, police say

A man shot dead in a car in downtown Toronto on Tuesday was likely targeted, police say.
Toronto police say they were approached by a person who heard gunshots in the area of Sherbourne and Shuter streets at about 12:15 p.m, according to Insp. Peter Wehby, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service.
When officers arrived, they found a man unresponsive in a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards, Wehby said.
Police have not released the victim's name or age, but Wehby said the man is not believed to be vehicle's registered owner.
The shooter and victim may be acquaintances, police said.
There's no word on a motive or suspect information.
