Jackie Khalilieh was diagnosed with autism as an adult, which — among other things — led her to look back at her teen years with a new perspective. Now, she's written her first YA book, titled Something More.
It's a contemporary teen romance novel about a Palestinian Canadian girl trying to hide her autism diagnosis while navigating her first year of high school. Khalilieh joined Q guest host Vivek Shraya(external link) to tell us how her own experience inspired the story.
