London police have laid charges against a man after ruling the death of a woman in a northwest London home Thursday afternoon a homicide.
The woman had sustained serious injuries and passed away shortly after.
Police originally stated they had detained a person if interest. Now, they say they've laid a charge of second degree murder against a 37-year-old London man.
At around 4:30 p.m. emergency services were called to the area of Redoak Avenue off Wonderland Road. They found an unresponsive woman with serious injuries when they arrived.
She was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police called the homicide an isolated incident and there does not seem to be any risk to public safety at this time, police say.
The Major Crime Section is investigating, and the accused was expected to appear in London court Friday in relation to the charge.
