Cole Harbour man who was subject of emergency alert dies

RCMP say the man died shortly after he was located Thursday night

Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a man who was arrested Thursday night following an emergency alert for the Halifax suburb of Cole Harbour.
The alert said police were looking for a man armed with a knife and people were advised to remain in their homes. An update provided at 9:45 p.m. said the man had been arrested and there was no longer a risk to the public.
A police spokesperson said Thursday the man was believed to have harmed himself.
In an update Friday, RCMP said the man was suffering from injuries and exposure when he was found. He was taken to hospital and died just after midnight.
RCMP are investigating the incident with the help of Nova Scotia's medical examiner.
