Freezing rain warnings are in effect for most of mainland Nova Scotia and much of Cape Breton.
Rainfall warnings are in place for parts of Cape Breton and the mainland, with 25 to 45 millimetres expected to fall Sunday through Monday evening.
Guysborough County, Halifax County east of Porters Lake, Richmond County and Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County have rainfall warnings only.
In inland and northern areas, ice could build up on surfaces including roads, walkways, trees and power lines before it tapers to rain around midnight. This will bring the potential for power outages.
