Police responded to a shooting in Dartmouth, N.S., on Thursday afternoon.

A man who was shot&nbsp;is expected to survive his injuries.

Halifax Regional Police were on the scene near&nbsp;at Cutler Avenue after receiving a report at 1:45 p.m. that a man was injured.

Police say he&nbsp;was driving in the area and was shot by one or more people driving in another vehicle. Police believe the man does not have life-threatening injuries.

"The investigation is in the early stages, however, at this time investigators believe the incident was not a random act," the release states.

Police released no information on possible suspects.

Mic Mac Mall could be renamed through M District development

After years of calls for Mic Mac Mall to change its name from a mispronunciation of Mi'kmaq, plans have begun for a major development that would bring in thousands of residents and could prompt a rebrand for the mall.

A spokesperson for the Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, N.S., says they have no plans to change their name.

Mission to Seafarers spreading cheer — and care packages — this holiday season

A small band of volunteers at the Port of Halifax are making it their mission to build as many care packages as they can for seafarers who are spending the holidays at sea.

1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Digby County crash

One man has died and another is seriously injured after a crash in Digby County early Thursday. According to an RCMP release, emergency services responded to a report of a collision on Highway 217 in Roxville at 8:55 a.m.

 A 30-year-old Moncton woman has been found safe.

Cape Breton women's hockey groups raise $90K toward Canada Games Complex renovation

The Cape Breton Blizzard Female Hockey Association and Cape Breton University Capers women's team have raised $90,000 for the revitalization of the Canada Games Complex.
