Shawn Menard has secured a second term to represent Capital ward.
This time around he was challenged by Carleton University adjunct professor Rebecca Bromwich and Daniel Rogers, who has worked in consulting and small business.
Speaking to CBC News, Menard congratulated Mark Sutcliffe on his win, saying the new council needs to "move forward collaboratively."
"I'm not going to be a wallflower, I will speak my mind and make sure my residents are well-represented. That being said, residents want to see collaboration for Ottawa and I'm ready to do that."
An earlier priority for him will be consulting with residents on how to move forward with the next phase of the Lansdowne redevelopment. He said he's also looking to focus on getting more climate-resilient buildings and active transportation in the ward.

Menard's priorities included breaking ground on a new community centre in Heron Park, a full revitalization of Brewer Park and redoing Bronson Avenue and Bank Street.
Bromwich's priorities included road redesign, shoring up the utility grid, better transit, and more affordable housing.
Rogers' priorities included Lansdowne development and associated transit requirements, affordable housing and a focused plan to deal with increasing mental health and addiction issues.
