Incumbent and runner-up face off again in Orléans South-Navan

3 candidates are running for the newly named council seat in Ward 19

When former councillor Stephen Blais vacated the council seat for Ward 19 in 2020, Catherine Kitts was sent to city hall to represent Cumberland.
The ward boundaries have been re-drawn for the 2022 election and given the new name Orléans South-Navan.
Kitts won the byelection with a majority of the votes in a crowded field of candidates, while Yvette Ashiri came in second, with 22 per cent of the votes. The two women will be on the ballot again this fall, joined by Shamsa Sheikh Ahmed.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 24. For more information about where and how to vote, visit the city's election page(external link).
