Race in River features 3 candidates

Incumbent had no challengers until August

Two-term incumbent Riley Brockington faced no rivals until August, when a couple of competitors registered to run against him this fall.
Brockington was first elected in 2014, and was returned to council in 2018 with nearly 55 per cent of the votes cast.
House of Commons legislative assistant Ethan Sabourin registered in early August to take Brockington on, while Alex Dugal — who's the CEO of a medical mask manufacturing company — signed up on the last day.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 24. For more information about where and how to vote, visit the city's election page(external link).
