Field wide open in West Carleton-March

There are 7 candidates running in Ward 5 to replace outgoing councillor of 19 years

After flirting with the idea of running for mayor, Eli El-Chantiry instead is walking away from city politics after representing the rural ward of West Carleton-March for 19 years.
There are seven people running for the seat this time around: Colin Driscoll, Sasha Duguay, Clarke Kelly, Ian Madill, Stephanie Maghnam, Greg Patacairk and Nagmani Sharma. Nick Drain had registered to run, but withdrew on Aug. 17.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 24. For more information about where and how to vote, visit the city's election page(external link).
