Appointed incumbent faces 1st race in Kanata North

There are 3 candidates running for a seat on council in Ward 4, including the incumbent who was appointed

After Jenna Sudds' successful 2021 run to be a Liberal MP for a west-end riding, council decided to appoint someone to fill her seat for Kanata North instead of holding a byelection.
Council selected Cathy Curry, who is now running for a seat on council for the first time, even though she's been representing the ward for the past 10 months.
Viorel Copil and Christine Moulaison — who was one of 20 candidates to apply for the appointment to the vacated Kanata North seat — are taking on Curry.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 24. For more information about where and how to vote, visit the city's election page(external link).
