Barrhaven West wide open for the 1st time in a quarter-century

There are 4 people running in Ward 3, and Jan Harder isn't one of the them

Jan Harder was known as the Queen of Barrhaven, having handily won every single municipal election in the community over the past 25 years.
In 2018, for example, Harder won with nearly 75 per cent of the votes cast.
But now that Harder has decided to hang up her crown, the newly named ward of Barrhaven West wide is open for newcomers Jay Chadha, Sadaf Ebrahim, David Hill and Taayo Simmonds.
The southern suburban ward has been split into two for the 2022 election, Barrhaven West and Barrhaven East. In this election, Ward 3 is the smallest in Ottawa by population.
Election day is Monday, Oct. 24. For more information about where and how to vote, visit the city's election page(external link).
