Nova Scotia RCMP&nbsp;say a man and a three-year-old boy who went missing&nbsp;Monday in the area of Abercrombie, N.S., have been found.

Police issued an alert around 4:43 p.m. reporting the two were missing and asking for the public's help in locating them.

A second alert about 15 minutes later said the two had been found and were safe.

Police have not disclosed&nbsp;the relationship between the two.

At 12:15 p.m., RCMP&nbsp;found an SUV that was being driven by the man abandoned on Granton Abercrombie Road in Pictou County.

A public inquiry into the Nova Scotia mass shooting heard from a retired officer who led the tactical response, and was critical of the RCMP for not having enough staff, proper technology or mental health support to deal with the incident and its aftermath.

Elective surgeries, imaging resumes at Truro hospital

An area of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro, N.S., where medical instruments are sterilized flooded early Monday. On Wednesday, Nova Scotia Health announced elective surgery and diagnostic imaging services were back up and running.

The health authority said in a statement Wednesday 55 procedures had been cancelled as a result of the flooding, including cataract, urology and gynecology surgeries and biopsies.
