Halifax Regional Police have identified the man who was the victim of a homicide on Gottingen Street early Friday morning.

Police were&nbsp;called to a weapons complaint around&nbsp;2:35 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man in his 20s who had been shot. Police said the man was taken to hospital where he later died.

In a news release issued Friday evening, police identified the victim as 25-year-old&nbsp;Treyvhon Alrick Bradshaw.&nbsp;

"Our thoughts remain with Treyvhon's family and friends on the loss of their loved one," read the release.

Police shut down part of Gottingen Street near Cornwallis Street Friday as a result of the investigation.
