Niagara region braces for planned protest at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, Ont.

A protest expected at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, Ont., has police, border services, public health and politicians watching closely as rallies in other cities continue to block traffic going into and out of the U.S. There are indications a Fort Erie protest could start sometime Saturday.

The federal government announced that all truck drivers crossing the border must be fully vaccinated as of January 15 regardless of whether they are Canadian citizens or foreign nationals.

Convoy meets at Saskatchewan-U.S. border in solidarity with Ottawa protest

Two opposing protests happened Saturday in Saskatchewan: one calling for a restoration of public health mandates in the province and the other showing support for lifting mandates in the province and on the border.
