We have yet another storm system tracking into the Maritimes, as our active pattern continues. Nova Scotia will see mostly rain, with more snow mixing in for Cape Breton.
Rain at times heavy and melting snow and ice will bring a risk of localized flooding, especially along the Atlantic coastline where rainfall totals will be highest.

With so many trees still encased in ice following Friday's storm, the biggest concern for Nova Scotia will be the wind. The 50-70 km/h gusts on Tuesday could be problematic, bringing potential for icy broken limbs and outages.
That said, I'm hoping our rising temperatures tonight along with rain and fog will melt enough ice on trees and lines, before the strongest winds ramp up on Tuesday.

Temperatures will be above freezing by Tuesday morning across the province with winds gusting increasing to 40-50 km/h in the southwest.

The stronger southeast winds will arrive in the afternoon with gusts in the 50-70 km/h range, except in Cape Breton where gusts will reach 90 km/h. Les Suetes winds will top 150 km/h on Tuesday afternoon.

The strongest southeast winds will ease from west to east on Tuesday evening as the rain departs and winds shift to breezy southwesterlies, which will linger into Wednesday.
