A 71-year-old Hamilton pedestrian died of his injuries, police say, after he was hit by a school bus in mid-December.
The pedestrian was crossing the road near Cannon Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North around 7 a.m. on Dec. 14 when he was struck by the bus, according to investigators.
Police said there were no children on board the "small school bus" when it hit him.
A 57-year-old man was driving the bus at the time.
Police said the man who was hurt, died of his injuries on Jan. 4, adding his name has not been released out of respect for his family.
The man's death marks the city's 15th fatal motor vehicle collision in 2021 and the eighth where the victim was a pedestrian, said the service.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and any witnesses who have not already spoken to police are asked to contact them.
