86-year-old woman dead after being hit by SUV in Stoney Creek

It's the second pedestrian death in a week in Hamilton
An 86-year-old woman is dead after an SUV hit her in Stoney Creek Saturday night, police say.
Just after 8:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the intersection of Barton Street and Varga Drive, Hamilton Police Service said in a media release.
When they got there, they found the woman with no vital signs, and pronounced her dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV stayed on scene.
Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information should call Det. Const. Wes Wilson at 905-546-4755.
It's the second such death in Hamilton in the last week. On Oct. 28, a 65-year-old man in a mobility scooter died in a collision with a dump truck at Barton Street and Wellington Street North.
