A 15-year-old who was riding a dirt bike was seriously injured Tuesday after being struck by a dump truck on Highway 19 in Cape Breton.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. AT in Judique, Inverness County.

RCMP said the dump truck had been travelling south on the highway&nbsp;when the teen entered the road on a dirt bike from a nearby trail.

The youth was thrown off the bike&nbsp;and&nbsp;later airlifted to a Halifax hospital. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

2 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nova Scotia Wednesday

Nova Scotia reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Both are in the central zone. One is related to travel, and one is a close contact of a previous case, according to the province.

No evidence found of unmarked graves related to Shubenacadie Residential School

Crews searching the grounds and surroundings of the Shubenacadie Residential School have concluded their search, saying they did not discover evidence of unmarked graves related to the school.

The Shubenacadie residential school operated from 1929 to 1967.
