MP Eric Duncan won first term in 2019, walking away with 54% of vote
For the Conservative Party of Canada, Stormont–Dundas–South Glengarry has been a fairly safe riding for some time.
Last voting Liberal in 2000, its constituents have given the Tories anywhere between 44 per cent and 62 per cent of the vote ever since.
In 2019, the Conservative Party's Eric Duncan won his first term after the incumbent, Guy Lauzon, announced his retirement.
Duncan took home 15,209 more votes than his closest opponent, Liberal candidate Heather Megill.
That also meant he ended election night with 53.9 per cent of the total vote, more than any other local candidate outside of Ottawa.
About 20 per cent of the residents of the southeastern Ontario riding, which includes Cornwall and the Mohawk community of Akwesasne, are francophone.
Lawyer David Anber is running for the People's Party of Canada in 2021, with mechanic in training Trevor Kennedy getting the NDP nomination.
Ticking a box for former police officer, city councillor and actor Denis Moquin would send a vote the Liberals' way and the Green Party has former University of Ottawa lecturer Jeanie Warnock as their representative.
