Kemy Osse hit a game-winning three-pointer to give the Saskatchewan Rattlers their first win of the 2021 CEBL season as they beat the Guelph Nighthawks 86-83 on Thursday.
Nervens Demosthene led Saskatchewan in points with 18, with Osse and Devonte Bandoo adding 15 each. The victory put an end to the Rattlers' 15-game losing streak overall as they improved to 1-9 in the season.
Ahmed Hill had 23 to lead Guelph, followed by Terry Thomas, who had 17. The Nighthawks dropped to 2-7 and remained sixth in the standings, only above the Rattlers.
The duel between the two lowest-ranked teams in the current CEBL season was a tight one, with the sides finishing the third quarter and entering the Elam Ending tied.
The levelled match continued as both teams only needed a three-pointer to reach the target of 86 points. Some turnovers followed until Osse brought the game to an end after a decisive steal by Demosthene.
