The age range for those eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine at Regina's drive-thru&nbsp;clinic was expanded on Saturday.

Those 52, 53 and 54 are now eligible to get a vaccine at the drive-thru&nbsp;site. Previously, only people age 53 or 54 were eligible at the Regina site.

Anyone who is not eligible for a vaccination will not receive one, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said in 

Anyone 55 and over can book a vaccination appointment at other sites 

Sask. doctors sign letter calling for increased public health measures, vaccinations for essential workers

The letter says measures in place in Regina limiting restaurants and worship services should be used provincewide, and calls for paid sick leave for essential workers.

Around 285 doctors have signed a letter calling on the province to enact further public health measures and prioritize frontline and essential workers — such as grocery store workers — for vaccines.

The Regina site had to temporarily close its line Saturday morning because the wait time was over 6 hours.

Saskatchewan has reported 472 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, as the province announced a host of new measures to curb the spread of the virus.

The drive-thru vaccination site, located on the Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. grounds, is open between 8:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.&nbsp;

Due to an increase in coronavirus&nbsp;variants of concern in Regina and the surrounding area, the health authority is&nbsp;urging residents to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.

The COVID-19 drive-thru clinic is now open to those 52, 53 or 54 years old.
