A&nbsp; 75-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in

Halifax police responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Young Street&nbsp;and Kempt Road at 7:58 a.m.&nbsp;

The victim was in a crosswalk on Young Street when when he was struck by a pickup truck turning east&nbsp;from Kempt Road.&nbsp;

The injured man was taken to hospital, but he died of injuries on Saturday, according to a police media release.

The driver of the pickup truck was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.&nbsp;

The investigation continues, according to the release.&nbsp;

2 new COVID-19 cases reported in Nova Scotia Saturday

Nova Scotia reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Both cases are in the central zone. One is a close contact of a previously reported case, while the other case is under investigation. The province now has 17 known active cases.

Man, 63, dies in Guysborough County crash

A 63-year-old man from Guysborough County has died in a crash on the Eastern Shore. RCMP were called to Fishermans Harbour Road in Fishermans Harbour just before 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Gas prices drop 8 cents in Nova Scotia

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (UARB) used its interrupter mechanism to adjust the price of gasoline one minute after midnight Friday. In some areas, including Halifax, prices dropped eight cents to a minimum of $1.23 per litre for regular gas, compared to $1.31 on Friday.
