Confederate flag spotted flying at cemetery in southeast Calgary

The flag was seen at Union Cemetery before it was taken down

A confederate flag had been placed at Union Cemetery in the city's southeast, before it was taken down just before 8 p.m.
The flag was spotted Tuesday evening after an account posted it on Twitter(external link).

The tweet got a string of reactions from accounts calling it "hateful" and saying that it needed to be taken down immediately.
Ward 8 councillor, Evan Woolley told CBC News that the news of the flag is outrageous.
"Who put that there? Why would they put that there?" he said.
"I'm glad we caught that and I hope we investigate and catch the jerks who put it there."
Woolley has since reported via Twitter that the flag was removed just before 8 p.m.
