Just two days&nbsp;after a COVID-19 outbreak was declared over at the&nbsp;hospital&nbsp;in&nbsp;Burnaby, B.C.,&nbsp;another flare-up has been reported at the facility.

Nine patients have tested positive at Burnaby&nbsp;Hospital's&nbsp;medicine unit, which&nbsp;has been temporarily closed to admissions, the Fraser Health Authority said Wednesday.

The emergency department remains open&nbsp;and enhanced cleaning and contact tracing has begun.

The previous outbreak was declared over on Monday.

B.C. health officials announced 414 new cases of COVID-19 and 16 more deaths on Wednesday as they revealed the results of an investigation into possible exposure to a new coronavirus variant at a Maple Ridge high school.

GARIBALDI SCHOOL VARIANT EXPOSURE

B.C. health officials have confirmed someone at Garibaldi Secondary School was infected with a more transmissible form of the coronavirus but no other positive cases were found and the individual originally infected has since recovered.

The hospital has experienced three outbreaks since November. In one, which began after 

someone set part of the facility on fire on Nov. 15

As of Wednesday, there are outbreaks in nine different hospitals across the province.

Burnaby Hospital has experienced three COVID-19 outbreaks since November.
