A body&nbsp;discovered Friday afternoon along a shoreline in southwest&nbsp;Nova Scotia — an area that has several recent missing persons cases — has been identified as a missing 41-year-old New Brunswick man.

The RCMP said an autopsy was completed on Jan. 18 and the death has not been ruled as suspicious.&nbsp;

In a news release Saturday morning, the RCMP said a man found&nbsp;the body&nbsp;near the water's edge around 1:30 p.m. Friday and called 911. The discovery happened near Central Grove on Long Island in Digby County.

At the time of the body's discovery, seven men were missing&nbsp;in that part of the province in three recent, separate cases.

last seen walking home from a party in Yarmouth County on&nbsp;New Year's Eve

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Joyce said in an interview Saturday, before the body was identified, that police&nbsp;had&nbsp;notified family members of all the recently missing men about the discovery.

Scammer targets family of missing Yarmouth County man, say RCMP

The family of a missing Yarmouth County man has been targeted by an online scam, according to Nova Scotia RCMP. A relative of Zachery Lefave, who was last spotted in Plymouth on New Year's Day, received an unsolicited text message on Jan. 12. 

An extensive search is underway for Zachery Lefave, of Hebron, N.S., who was reported missing in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2021.

Sweet rice pancake products sold across Canada recalled due to undeclared egg

A brand of sweet rice pancake products are being recalled across Canada due to undeclared egg. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the recall was prompted after a consumer reported a reaction after consuming Wang Korea brand pancakes.

Two flavours of the pancakes, including Green Tea Flavor Sweet Rice Pancake and Sweet Rice Pancake, were recalled Friday.
