Been in a Halifax bar or restaurant at night in the past 2 weeks? Get a COVID-19 test

Anyone who was recently in a Halifax bar or restaurant past 10 p.m., or works in one, is being asked to get a COVID-19 test. The province announced Tuesday they are broadening out their asymptomatic testing strategy for people who go to, or work, in late-night bars and restaurants.

On Friday Ontario announced stricter measures in Toronto, Ottawa and Peel Region in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 as the province's curve climbs ever steeper. Indoor dining at bars and restaurants has been restricted by the Ontario government.

Anyone who has been to a bar in Halifax past 10 p.m. or works at a licensed establishment is being asked to get a COVID-19 test.

A Halifax councillor says three houses that a car dealership recently bought on May Street cannot be replaced with a parking lot.

The Honda dealership's parking lot runs right up to the three houses. The dealership plans to demolish them and expand the lot, but the local councillor says the rules don't allow that.

Late-year detections of endangered right whales close multiple N.S. fisheries

For the second time this month, Canada has ordered a temporary fishery closure in the Roseway Basin off southern Nova Scotia after multiple detections of endangered North Atlantic right whales in the area. It's uncommon to see the whales in that area this late in the season.
