All age groups saw new coronavirus infections, but people under 19 led the way
The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported 23 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected in the region up to 124.
Every age group saw a person infected, though youth under the age of 19 saw the highest growth in positive cases, with seven new infections.
Ontario reported another 1,210 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, and 28 more deaths linked to the illness.
One death is close to home at Stratford's Cedarcroft Place, which has now seen nine people die since an outbreak was declared at the retirement facility at the end of October.
Huron Perth Public Health said there are currently 62 people connected to Cedarcroft who are infected, including 19 staff members.
London Health Sciences Centre is also the site of potential spread with 15 staff members infected Thursday and 55 under investigation.
It prompted hospital CEO Paul Woods to send a message to all employees warning them to be leaders in efforts to mask and social distance.
