A day after extending the red-zone restrictions, Quebec Premier François Legault said there could be some allowances, however slight, for the holiday season if the coronavirus is contained.
"For Christmas, I really hope and I'm confident that in 28 days, we'll be able to maybe not have big parties for Christmas, but to be able to see our families," he said.
Legault is facing criticism from the opposition parties in Quebec City for the uncertainty around the duration of the partial lockdown.
But speaking to reporters Tuesday, Legault said the situation is "evolving" and that his government and public experts are making the best decisions possible based on the information they have at the time.
