There are three new COVID-19 cases in Hamilton schools, including two students in the public school board.
The student at Highview Elementary School was last in the building on Monday and received their positive test result on Thursday.
"The students and staff members associated with this case, including those in the before- and after-school program, have been notified and will self-isolate, pending further direction," read a letter(external link) from principal Jamie McLean.
It is the school's second COVID-19 case.
Meanwhile, an infected student at Dundas Valley Secondary School was last in the building on Tuesday and also received their positive test result on Thursday.
"As a precautionary measure, the class of students and staff associated with this case have been notified," read a letter from principal Gail Cipriani.
The third new COVID-19 case in a Hamilton school is at École secondaire Académie catholique Mère-Teresa.
Someone tested positive and caused two classrooms to close. The school is still running, but it's unclear if the infected person was a student or staff member and when they were last in the building.
