Sort Of follows the journey of Sabi Mehboob, a gender-fluid 25-year-old, as they decide to turn down a dream opportunity to live overseas to remain as a nanny for a family dealing with a devastating accident.

"It feels so right, in a time like this, to be working on a show that looks at how we are constantly changing, and how change can clarify who we are and who we want to be in the world," said the series' co-creator Baig, who also plays the main character Mehboob.

"Working with Bilal and Sienna and CBC on this has been a dream," said co-creator Filippo, who CBC Comedy audiences will recognize from Save Me.

The cast also includes Gray Powell (Hudson & Rex, Designated Survivor), Amanda Cordner (Baroness von Sketch Show, The Expanse), Ellora Patnaik (Kim's Convenience, Schitt's Creek), Grace Lynn Kung (Transplant, Star Trek: Discovery), Supinder Wraich (The 410, Crawford), Kaya Kanashiro, Aden Bedard, Gregory Ambrose Calderone (This Movie is Broken, Salvation) and Alanna Bale (Cardinal, Killjoys).

The coming-of-age story, which starts production today in Toronto, is a show about how each individual is in transition—sort of.
