The same day Londoners learned a high school student tested positive, and many Western University students spoke of their long weekend travel plans, the health unit reported another day of double digit cases in the region.
The Middlesex London Health Unit said Wednesday 11 new people tested positive, bringing the number of active cases up to 64.
Five of the new cases were people in their 20s, with one person in their teens or younger. Three people are between the ages of the 30 and 50, with the remainder in an older demographic.
One student at Saunders Secondary School has contracted the virus, and earlier Wednesday, MLHU said the individual attended classes while ill.
The health unit noted the student isn't considered a "super spreader" because everyone in the classroom was wearing a mask.
The French school board also reported a positive case involving a staff member at École élémentaire la Pommeraie, in southwest London.

Double-digit increases

The Middlesex-London region is among a small number of public health units in the province seeing double-digit daily case counts contributing to an overall daily count of 583 in Ontario.
It has health officials and the premier urging people to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday only with people in their own household. People who live alone may pair up with one other household, Ford said.
CBC News went to Western University Tuesday to ask students about the risk factors and if that's affecting their weekend plans.
Some said they are planning to stay in London, while others have train tickets booked for trips home to the GTA or plan to get rides with friends. Many said they wished they could get a test, to ensure their family members are safe upon their return.
