Hamilton private school student who wasn't on campus tests positive for COVID-19

The student tested positive on Sept. 10 and has been self-isolating
A student at Hillfield Strathallan College has tested positive for COVID-19, but the school says they had not yet attended class.
The student tested positive last Thursday, on Sept. 10 and has been self-isolating. The case didn't appear in Ontario's reporting of school cases because the student didn't attend class.
"We have notified Hamilton Public Health, and they are working to determine all close contacts of the positive case," reads a notice form the school.
"Hamilton Public Health will determine who the close contacts are and will contact them directly to inform them."
The notice said children are able to attend class unless public health asks them to self-isolate.
The school said it will undergo enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, in addition to other standard COVID-19 protocol in schools like encouraging more hand washing and physical distancing.
The independent, co-educational day school offers a Montessori School for kids between eight months and nine-years-old. It also offers schooling up to Grade 12.
This comes after a school in Niagara has a positive case of COVID-19. Hamilton also reported its first case of an infection associated with the local school system.
