Arike Ogunbowale scored 26 points, and her three-point play with 12.4 seconds left helped carry Dallas past the New York Liberty 82-79 on Sunday, keeping the Wings' WNBA playoff hopes alive.

The Wings (8-14) need help to secure the No. 8 spot in the form of an Atlanta Dream win over the Washington Mystics (8-13) later Sunday. Dallas owns the tie breaker against Washington and Atlanta in the event of a three-way tie at 8-14.

Ogunbowale gave Dallas the lead for good when she banked in a 12-foot runner going to her left after getting hit by Amanda Zahui B. on the drive.

Jazmine Jones gave the Liberty (2-20) its last lead with a layup with 59.8 seconds to go for a 79-78 lead. Following an exchange of possessions, the Liberty failed to use the clock when Kiah Stokes put up a shot with 15.8 seconds remaining and missed. The Wings called timeout to set up Ogunbowale's game winner.

Marina Mabrey scored 24 points points for Dallas, which only had seven healthy players due to injuries.

Jones led New York with 21 points and Leaonna Odom scored 20.

Ariel Atkins led four players in double figures with 26 points Sunday as the Washington Mystics grabbed the eighth and final spot in the WNBA playoffs with an 85-78 win over the Atlanta Dream in Bradenton, Fla.

Myisha Hines-Allen added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Washington (9-13), which will meet Phoenix on Tuesday night in a single-elimination game. Emma Meesseman scored 14 points and Kiara Leslie chipped in 11.

Betnijah Laney scored a game-high 27 points and rookie Chennedy Carter had 26 for Atlanta (7-15), but it wasn't enough to keep the league's defending champion from earning its fourth straight playoff appearance.

Dearica Hambry and A'ja Wilson each recorded 23 points and seven rebounds as the Las Vegas Aces earned the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs with an 86-84 win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday in Bradenton, Fla.

A back-and-forth contest throughout, neither team led by more than five points in the second half. Las Vegas (18-4) built the largest lead of the second in the final minute to hold off Seattle and complete the regular-season sweep.

By virtue of Sunday's win and an 82-74 win over the Storm on Aug. 22, the Aces claim the tiebreaker for the league's top seed.

Hambry's eight assists and four 3-pointers both marked career-highs.

Danielle Robinson also came up big off the Las Vegas bench with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. With Hambry and Robinson leading the way, the Aces' reserves accounted for 43 points, half of the team's total output.

Seattle (18-4) received 18 points from its bench. Just two Storm players scored in double-figures, with Jewell Loyd leading all scorers at 30 points. Loyd picked up the slack with Most Valuable Player candidate Breanna Stewart sidelined for a second consecutive game due to tendonitis in her left foot.
