London police are investigating after 25 bus shelters were damaged in the city's east end over the past week.
Vandals targeted bus shelters in Old East Village and through the city's east end between Aug. 27 and Sept. 1., police said.
"We actually only budget for three new shelters to go out each year," said Ward 2 councillor Shawn Lewis. "Then there's a capital budget for repairs, as well."
"The problem is, some of these shelters have been smashed [on] two nights." he said. "So we can't keep continuing to replace them on a nightly or every two-day basis."
Damage is estimated between $25,000 and $30,000.
Investigators are looking for tips from the public, including any relevant video surveillance, to help find the person or persons responsible for the damage.
