Anthony Taylor, 34, identified as victim in early morning assault
Police say a fatal stabbing early Thursday morning in southwest Calgary is linked to a residence that has been associated recently with complaints about drug activity.
Officers were called to a residence in the 5500 block of Second Street S.W. in the Manchester industrial area at about 3 a.m. for reports of an assault, police said in a release.
Police found the victim on the road a short distance away from the residence, lying between two vehicles.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an autopsy on Friday, he was identified as Anthony Taylor, 34, of Calgary.
"The residence that officers initially responded to is known to police and recent efforts have been made to address complaints and drug activity in the area," the release said.
Investigators are still looking at security camera video from the area and speaking to witnesses.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers.
