Winnipeg police have blocked off part of Selkirk Avenue Tuesday morning, due to what they call a "serious incident" in the area.

Traffic is blocked from Selkirk between McGregor and Salter streets, police wrote in a post on Twitter shortly before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

The nature of the incident is not clear. Winnipeg police Const. Rob Carver said he couldn't provide information beyond what was in the tweet.

St. Boniface hospital sues law firm over handling of leaky building complaint

Winnipeg's St. Boniface Hospital is suing the law firm it hired to handle a complaint about construction of one of its buildings, which has been plagued with water leak issues for years.

Between 2012 and 2014, there were over 60 reports of water infiltration into the Asper Institute building at St. Boniface Hospital, a court found.

CFL targets $30M, interest-free loan from federal government: report

Two sources with knowledge of the situation told The Canadian Press on Monday the CFL is now talking with the federal government about a $30 million, interest-free loan.

The CFL believes it needs financial support from Ottawa to stage an abbreviated 2020 season and reportedly is in talks with the federal government about a $30 million, interest-free loan.
