Robert Heidbreder

Robert Heidbreder is a children's poet and author who has been writing children's books for over 30 years. He has published 18 books, which have won numerous awards, including the BC Book Prize for A Sea-Wishing Day and The Blue Spruce Award for Drumheller Dinosaur Dance.
His first book, Don't Eat Spiders, was published in 1985, and his latest book, Our Corner Store, came out in Spring 2020. In Fall 2020 he will be publishing a new picture book called Catch the Sky.
Heidbreder spent 30 years as a primary school teacher and won the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2002. He loves to read and write poetry, garden and spend time with his cats.
He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
