Teen attacked on May 30 likely to have life-altering injuries, police say
Winnipeg police are asking the public for help identifying a man who may be connected with a hammer attack on a teen last month.
The 15-year-old was found on a Selkirk Avenue sidewalk, between McGregor and Powers streets, late on the morning of May 30, police said.
A witness who found the teen on the sidewalk told CBC the 15-year-old still had the hammer lodged in his head when first responders arrived.
The teen was suffering from serious head trauma and was taken to hospital in critical condition, police said. He is expected to have life-altering injuries.
The man police are seeking is believed to be in his 20s and is about five foot eight, with a slim build and short dark hair.
