Police have closed part of Sargent Avenue Wednesday morning to investigate a stabbing.

The road between Toronto Street and Beverly Street was closed as of 6:30 a.m.&nbsp;

The assault happened just after 1 a.m. and sent a man to hospital in critical condition, where he remains,&nbsp;police said.&nbsp;

Police said there is no risk to the public but tweeted that they want people to avoid the area if possible.

The blood is just outside a small store on Sargent Avenue at Beverley Street.
