Woman, 21, dies in rollover in southern Manitoba

Man, 23, sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries

A 21-year-old woman died after the vehicle she was driving went off the road and rolled into a ditch in southern Manitoba on Sunday.
RCMP were called just after 5:30 a.m. about the crash on Highway 200 near the intersection of Road 6 N. in the municipality of Emerson-Franklin. The vehicle was northbound on Highway 200 at the time.
The woman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old man, who was a passenger, was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP, with a forensic collision reconstructionist, continue to investigate the cause of the crash and to determine whether alcohol or excessive speed were factors.
