Man taken to hospital in unstable condition

A man was taken to hospital in unstable condition early Thursday morning after police were called to Ellice Avenue and Young Street to investigate a report of an injured person.
Police were called to the area around 3:20 a.m.

They are now investigating an assault, a police spokesperson said via email. They did not say how the man was injured.
Blood splatters could be seen on the sidewalk in front of the Ellice Place building on Ellice Avenue.

The westbound curb lane of Ellice Avenue is closed between Young Street and Furby Street, as well as McMicken Street where it passes through Ellice Place.
