Police responded to report of stabbing at home at 25th Avenue and 43rd Street

The Edmonton Police Service homicide unit is investigating the suspicious death of a young girl in southeast Edmonton.
Police were called around 8:45 p.m. on Monday to a home at 25th Avenue and 43rd Street after a report of a stabbing.
Officers found a young girl suffering life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect is in custody and there is no risk to public safety, police said in a media advisory.
No further details will be released Monday night, police said.
Photographs from the scene Tuesday morning show police have blocked off a road and four police cruisers outside a home.
The home is in the Bisset neighbourhood in Mill Woods.
