The Saskatoon Fire Department was called north to help Dalmeny fire and rescue crews in controlling and containing a large grass fire to the west of Saskatoon on Saturday.
Two trucks, a tanker and one brush truck responded around 3:50 p.m. CST on Saturday.
The fire travelled about three kilometres in a short period of time and had five acreages in its path, according to a tweet from Dalmeny Fire and Rescue.
Crews from multiple jurisdictions were called in and eventually got the fire under control while protecting the surrounding properties and buildings. Hot spots were still being extinguished into Saturday evening.

The tweet warned that the grass is still very dry in the area, even though there appears to be a lot of water in ditches. It was the second grass fire that crews from Dalmeny responded to on Saturday.
