Five new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Saskatchewan&nbsp;Thursday, the same day the province announced its plans to reboot the provincial economy.

One of those new cases is presumptive and&nbsp;awaiting confirmation. Nine more people have recovered, meaning there are 57 remaining active cases of COVID-19 in the province.&nbsp;

The number of cases with no known cause, or possible community transmission, is 33&nbsp;out of 331 total cases since the novel coronavirus was first detected.

Of those, 150 cases are from the Saskatoon area,&nbsp;71 from the Regina area, 62 from the north, 15 from the south, 11 from the central region and 22 from the far north, according to a provincial breakdown.

Nineteen cases are active in Saskatchewan's far north. One of those cases is presumptive and is awaiting confirmation.

The Saskatchewan government's five-phase plan to reopen the province is set to begin on May 4. The plan, which was unveiled Thursday by Premier Scott Moe and Saskatchewan's Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab, will guide the province as it restarts its economy during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 in Sask: 6 new cases, all from northern regions

The English River First Nation is reporting four new cases of COVID-19. Testing numbers are also on the decline across the province.

An English River First Nation press release says there are four new cases of COVID-19 in that community, the first time the virus has appeared there.

So far, 136 of Saskatchewan's cases have been linked to travel and&nbsp;142&nbsp;linked to mass gatherings. Another 23 cases are currently under investigation for possible cause.

Six people are currently in hospital. One person is in the intensive care unit.
