Toronto police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the city's Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood on Sunday night.
Nazirullah Abdul-Rashid, 16, of Toronto, was found with gunshot wounds inside a car at 5 Leaside Park Drive. He died at the scene.
Police had been called to the address near the intersection of Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive at 10:42 p.m.
Paramedics performed first aid and CPR but they could not save Abdul-Rashid's life.
Earlier on Monday, police said they received reports of several shots fired. Witnesses told police they thought they spotted people who may be connected to the shooting.
"There were several males that were observed running into the ravine," Const. Edward Parks said.
Investigators used a drone during their search of the scene to collect aerial images of the area.
