Nova Scotia increasing 811 staffing levels, COVID-19 testing capacity

Nova Scotia is increasing staffing levels at its swamped 811 service and boosting the number of daily tests it conducts for COVID-19 as the number of cases in the province rose to 51, officials said Tuesday.

StandardAero was notified on the weekend that a Winnipeg employee tested positive for COVID-19, a spokesperson said.

Transition houses in Nova Scotia see spike in calls amid COVID-19

As Nova Scotia attempts to stop the spread of COVID-19 through measures like the closure of schools, daycares and many businesses, a downside is that for people who live in homes that aren't safe or prone to violence, there are now few respite options.
