Londoners can now visit the city's first assessment centre at Oakridge Arena to establish whether symptoms match those of COVID-19.
The Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) says testing for the virus will not be done at the site, but will aid in triaging people with concerns.
The assessment centre, which opens Monday March 16, will also help keep people from flooding hospital emergency rooms, doctors' offices and urgent care centres.
But before visiting, the health unit is asking Londoners to follow two additional steps.
First, use the Ontario Ministry of Health's online self-assessment tool(external link) to understand symptoms and risks. The second step is to call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000.
After those two steps are completed, public health says to visit the centre.
